Blinding Light appoints new Lighting Designer - September 2009

Following recent success and company growth in the corporate events sector, Blinding Light today announced a new appointment to improve its design resource. From a strong events background, Nick Holloway will join the already well established team at Blinding Light as a Lighting Designer, bringing with him 5 years of experience in lighting design and operation for the corporate and live music industry.

“My interest in lighting began at a young age when I started my own DJ business at school,” commented Holloway. “From there I attended Staffordshire University to study Film Production and Music Technology. However my real passion was still for lighting and during my studies I undertook a challenge to re-design both the university’s nightclubs and operated for many touring live bands at Keele University. In addition, a temporary contract in a moving light department enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the latest lighting equipment and technology.”

More recently Nick has worked for PSL Events. Initially working as a site technician Nick quickly progressed to become a principal designer with responsibility for delivering the lighting requirements of PSL’s blue-chip clients. In the last few months Nick has been freelancing for a variety of lighting companies.

“We are delighted that Nick has joined the team at Blinding Light,” commented Patrick Stacey, Managing Director, Blinding Light. “As well as collaborating with me on larger projects, Nick will be looking after a number of our existing cliental and will also be focussed on developing new business opportunities to cement our position as a leading lighting provider for corporate events.”
